Help with Neighbour Noise in Birmingham and the West Midlands
With a population of over 1.2 millon Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK after London. Birmingham’s growth came at the time of the industrial revolution when pollution from manufacturing was just one of the populations’ concerns. Today, now that much of the industrial pollution has disappeared, noise pollution and neighbour noise in Birmingham have grown to be substantial problems.

Noise Nuisance 
Have regularly had problem with noisy neighbours ,mostly down to the fact that they are in a private let property,and have a laminate floor that has poor or no underlay ,and kids ( and parents) jumping around on it at will .have reported it to b.c.c who said they would contact landlord to see what can be done .i dont hold out much hope for this ,and although we have got on ok and have spoken to said neighbour it seems they are doing nothing to help alleviate the problem we are now at wits end with it and in fact have applied for transfer ,although not what we ideally want

Hi Stephen, the curse of the laminate floor has affected many. There are some steps that can be taken but sometimes it can be difficult to persuade local authorities and housing providers to take them. You’ll find more info on our Knowledge Base.
